Gerry's Grill is one of the well-known Filipino restaurants in the east bay. This is located at the edge of Union Landing close to the Walmart. There is plenty of parking, but less so in the immediate vicinity of the restaurant. If you're coming here on a Saturday night, I recommend getting there early to put your name on the waitlist - there's a tablet with the YELP waitlisting system - as it can get very busy. I haven't had luck with waitlisting ahead of time on the app because they tend to close that option on Saturdays. Why is it so busy on Saturdays you may ask? It's because they have live band performances from I would say 8pm all the way to midnight. Because of this, people tend to hang out to eat, drink, etc, and tables come by much slower. I really enjoy the live band, but it can get pretty loud so keep that in mind. This is not the best place to catch up with people if that's what you're trying to do, but it is if you're just out for a good time with your friends. We ordered the beef Kare Kare, grilled squid, garlic rice, and lomi the last time we visited. I was sorely disappointed in the lomi. Not that it didn't taste good, but it's not the lomi that I grew up with in Batangas. The grilled squid was delicious and it wasn't too chewy. My only complaint is that the Kare Kare was pretty watered down - I thought it was better the last time I had it here. However, the beef was great because it was so tender. I'll definitely keep coming back when I get the craving for Filipino food and want to hear some OPMs and Oldies.

We decided to visit this place early on a weekend to beat the crowd. However, I was disappointed when they crammed us into a table meant for two by adding an extra chair. Despite the cramped seating, the food was delicious. Lechon Kawali Kare-Kare - 10/10 Sinigang Pork Belly - 7/10 Inihaw na Pusit (chewy) - 6/10 The Sinugba was outstanding! - 10/10. It would have been better if they served all the dishes together instead of making us pause between courses.

My family and were craving some authentic Filipino food so we decided to go here. Be advised that they don't open till 12pm! The place itself is very room. They had a lot of seats, a bar and even a stage for live music. I've been here before one a Saturday night and it can get pretty packed, but on a Monday afternoon it wasn't as busy. The food here are so good! If you crave Filipino food this is the spot. We had crispy pata, eggplant ensalada, grilled baby squid and Chicharon Bulaklak.Everything was fried and cooked perfectly! I give the food here 5 out of 5. The only thing I have to say is that, this place is meant for like a sit down eating for a group or family. They really didn't have like a lunch special or anything like that. So if you're on a lunch break and just want a small portion, you have to get a whole a la carte. The service was pretty decent. There was one server in the morning, but there was not that many people so we weren't neglected at all. The server was attentive and made sure we were all set. Overall, this is my go to spot for Filipino food with my family. 4 out 5 stars!
